Here are a few tips to enhance your experience.
Our story is told with words, images and sound. So I recommend you enjoy the book on the largest computer screen and best audio equipment available to you. Using your phone is okay too but – believe me – you will enjoy the book more on a computer screen with good audio.
Once you’re in the book, make yourself familiar with the ‘dashboard’ at the bottom of the screen. There are 5 controls to master:
- To get the best view, click on the icon at the bottom right – the book will fill up your screen.
- The next icon to the left allows you to experience the book with sound. Definitely worthwhile to turn it on!
- To turn the pages – forwards or backwards – just click on the arrows at the bottom center.
- If you’re the type who likes ‘auto-pilot,’ there’s an icon on the left side of the arrows which will automatically flip the pages for you.
- The final icon on the left allows you to zoom in on any pages you like.
We’ve also installed a link at the end of the book which makes it easy for you to let us know what you thought of “Becoming Sgt. Pepper”. You can also use the comment section below this text to share your thoughts.
Click the icons below to go to the first book (Becoming Sgt. Pepper), the second book (Mad Days Out) or the third book (The Beatles The End).
Thanks again for your interest. Enjoy the ride!

As one who grew up in prime time alongside the evolution of the Beatles I found this adventure thoroughly delightful. The research is deep and the offerings in “snippets” is highly digestible. Thanks for your love of the group and your investment is sharing the highlights of their development. They were so rare and will always remain my favorite band. Thank you for doing this and thanks to Chuck for sharing with me. Now, as I see the opportunity to share, I will do so and may you be inundated with love for a job very well done. Cheers!
Jack,
I’m very happy to hear how much you enjoyed our gift. Please feel free to share it with your friends and family.

M,
Congrats on your truly remarkable literary feat- you have judiciously hand-picked a talented production team of friends and, in your characteristically transactional manner, squeezed excellence out of each and every one of them! The fruits of your and their labor have resulted in a totally enlightening and entertaining digital experience that, like many of life’s best moments, floats effortlessly to its conclusion, “ending before you even realize it.” I can attest to all the hard work you put into this project, having witnessed you “burning the candle” past my after-midnight retirement on many of those early summer evening during which you and Lin Lin stayed at our Rhode Island abode. What I didn’t envision, though, is how brilliantly the final digital presentation would so intuitively pull the reader into your Beatle worldview. You have given us one of 2020’s best Christmas gifts- now you can “turn off your mind, relax and float downstream” until your next major endeavor…

Dude,
It’s especially important to hear you enjoyed the book. I know how much of a discerning Beatles fan you are. So it’s good to know that we got it right.
Now you also have a better idea of what I was doing all those late nights in Newport i.e. trying to find ways to improve this book.
I implore you: Please share this gift with your many friends in the music world. Hopefully they can derive the same pleasure that you did.
Have a wonderful holiday.

We’re ‘live’! Thanks to the “3 J’s” for your help (John, Josee & Joost)…M
This was such a fun read! The graphic design and use of music really made it an immersive experience.
Molly, Very kind of you to let me know your thoughts. Your Dad’s guidance is what turned my book away from being an academic exercise towards being fun! The graphic design and use of music came from my Dutch contributors. Truly an International team effort!
I was honored to have been involved with the creation of this fabulous exposition of the world’s greatest rock band and I’m very much looking forward to reading the next volume!
The honour was all mine!
