Loved it
Great shots
Thorough information
short and sweet
great coffee table material
Dude,
Really nice to hear from you.
The whole idea for this book started with a simple ambition of making a ‘coffee-table’ book for a few friends. Now it’s turned into something bigger – and hopefully better 🙂
Please feel free to share the book with whomever you like. It’s meant to be shared.
Thanks again.

I will totally share this with hundreds of people who love music
Thanks again Erik. Jah love! M
M.Frank,
A terrific product you and your team have produced. I enjoyed all aspects of the book. I have never read anything about the early days of the Beatles and found that quite interesting. The information about two record labels was fascinating. I would bet today everyone wants worlwide rights . It is always great to listen to the classic Beatles tunes. Bring on vol 2.
Walter,
That’s mighty big praise coming from you. Thanks a lot.
The record industry has changed a lot since the Beatles – and probably it was the Beatles’ success that influenced that change.
For example: When they signed their first contract, they were hardly making any money from the sales of their records. They made most from public appearances. It’s only now that the surviving Beatles (Paul & Ringo) are making a lot of money from the sale of their back catalogue.
Will keep you in mind for Volume 2.
Thanks again. Feel free to share the book.

There are many compliments one could pay to this unique book and its creators. Chief among them is that there is a quietly thrilling unadorned immediacy to the experience of “reading” it. The multi-sensory tools of music, camera shutter sounds, poignant pictures and laid bare text are all choreographed in an elegant unobtrusive way. I felt lulled into a happy receptive reverie. It certainly induces the emotional experience of looking at a cherished scrapbook.
And of course, there has never been better subject matter. The Beatles remain a vortex for those under their spell. This book honors that magic and makes it tangible moment by happy moment.
Mike,
I was initially stunned by your comment – because it was so incredibly well-written! Then I read your comments several times and a few phrases really sunk in: ‘unique book,’ ‘multi-sensory tools,’ ‘laid bare text’ and ‘induces the emotional experience of looking at a cherished scrapbook.’ I realised that you completely understood our team’s objectives when we collaborated to make our book.
We knew there were ‘mountains’ of available Beatle books in the market – but we aspired to making something unique. To accomplish that, we decided to take the multi-sensory approach. Our Editor must be credited for the ‘laid-bare text.’ I originally submitted 400 pages of text! He instructed me to strip that down to the bare essentials. And from the very beginning, our concept was to create an ‘electronic scrapbook.’ You really understood us!
Thanks for taking the time to write such an eloquent comment. You’ve really touched us.

M,
Thank You!
It is easier to express oneself when inspired!

Couple of things stand out here; Firstly, Its great to read through these comments and realize that this piece of work touches both hard core Beatles fans as well as novices, me being the latter.
Secondly this rendering is a picture perfect copy/paste image of the author’s personality … reading it is like having a live chat with M (I truly miss those)… passionate, truthful, factual, always seasoned with a tinge of humor. Bring on Vol. 2!
Luc,
What a pleasant surprise! Thanks for leaving your comment.
I completely agree with your first point: I half expected our main audience to be hard core Beatle fans. But I was really hoping to also appeal to those folks who were ‘novices.’ I think you might be more than a ‘novice,’ but I will take your word for it.
Your second observation is going to make me think for awhile. My Editor occasionally urged me to write from what is called the ‘first person singular’ perspective. For example say things like “I think” or “Je pense que.” But I decided early on to avoid that technique and try to be as objective/factual as possible. But I am open to the probability that you know me better than I know myself!
By the way: Did you also notice that I chose to write in the present tense rather than the past? That was part of an intentional strategy to make the book seem more contemporary – or perhaps timeless.
I’m really glad that you enjoyed my ’tinge of humour.’ I must give credit to our Editor for that. My initial manuscript was as dry as 3-day old toast.
Will keep you posted about Volume 2. Please feel free to share our book with your ‘army’ of followers around the world!
Thanks again.

I remember the “British Invasion” of USA rock and roll. Not being a fan of 50’s music, the Beatles were a welcome Revolution. Your book helped me to remember how amazing their music was and where I was in the 60’s hearing it for the first time. Book 1 is very well done. Excellent paceing and just the right mix of songs, graphics and text. Looking forward to the next two. Thanks!
Tom,
First of all: Thanks for your kind words. I sincerely appreciate that you took the extra time to leave a comment.
I think it’s safe to say that there would never have been a “British Invasion” without the Beatles. I remember Mick Jagger’s speech to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (1988?) when he was inducting the Beatles into that institution. He pretty much admitted that the Beatles were responsible for the Stones’ initial success in America.
I must give credit to our Editor for the pacing and the mix of graphics & text. And it is our Software Engineer who deserves all the credit for the songs! Either way, it was a true collaborative effort.
Will keep you posted on our progress towards completing our Beatles trilogy. In the meantime, please feel free to share the book with your friends.
Thanks again Tom. Be well.
